Huddersfield Bridge Club
Tuesday - 10.00 - 12.00

The class is for true beginners and will start with the basics. It will be based on the EBU course for teaching Bridge. It will be a TWO YEAR course requiring a corresponding commitment. The aim is to allow students: (a) time to absorb new material and (b) to play in order to put their new knowledge into practice. An absolute essential is the EBU Book 1 Beginning Bridge ISBN 9780 9541 68523 (£25 or £20.50 via Mr Murphy). It can be ordered from him in the first lesson.

B012      Continuing Bridge  - Alan Aizlewood

United Reform Church
Tuesday - 2.00 - 4.00

NEW COURSE! 'Bridge for All' is a staged learning programme produced by the English Bridge Union.  This class will cover the second year of that programme, based on their book 'Continuing Bridge'.  Topics will include Declarer and Defensive Play, Slam Bidding and Competitive Bidding; at an Improver's level.  As such it is for the slightly more ambitious player but, to allow for a relaxed approach with time for recapping basics and student led diversions, will be spread over two years. By the end of the course, students will be confident playing at Bridge Club duplicate sessions.  There will be a large element of fun - after all, Bridge is a game! It is recommended that students buy 'Continuing Bridge' during the first few weeks of the course as it is a valuable reference.
