B012      Bridge Clues for Improvers - Paul Green

Brighouse Bridge Club
Thursday 10.00 - 12.00

NEW CLASS! Bridge is a fantastic game in which you never stop learning new ideas and improving your judgement. It is exciting, stimulating and challenging, often frustrating but above all great fun. Bridge is a social game. You meet wonderful people from all walks of life and form lifetime friendships. If you don't already play, I urge you to join a beginner's class (both Brighouse and Huddersfield bridge clubs run these independently of the U3A). If you do already play, this is the class for you. Each week we take an in-depth look at a particular bridge technique, maybe on hand evaluation, bidding, declarer play or defence. We practise this technique using carefully selected instructional hands. If it sounds serious, it isn't, most importantly it is intended to  be enjoyable and fun.

B013      Brush up your Bridge - Dallas Cliff

United Reformed Church
Monday - 9.45 - 11.45

This Bridge class is for anyone wanting to improve their bridge but is particularly suitable for all those who would like to move on from their beginners' class. Sessions are normally based on topics chosen by the class with prepared hands designed to practise using the new information, but quizzes and small tournaments all add to the fun. If you would like to improve your bridge in a relaxed supportive atmosphere then this is the class for you. There may be some sessions when tuition is not available due to holiday plans of the tutor. The class will meet and play social bridge on these occasions.
