W010    Monday Walks - Christopher Dale

Walking / Cycling meeting point
Monday - 10.00 - 3.30

We walk every Monday throughout the year. We walk 10-12 miles over varied terrain in equally varied weather conditions, so good clothing and footwear are essential. Some walks are local, some further afield and we "car share" wherever possible to get to the starting point. Group members take turns to lead, but we don't expect new members to lead straight away and help is always available for planning and checking out walks. For further information about the group and to enquire about joining, contact Chris Dale (667353 or 07831724929) or June Waddington (604265). We currently have room for new members.

We walk on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. The walks are around five miles over any kind of terrain and proper walking equipment is essential. Non-car drivers can be accommodated. If you are interested in joining this group phone Bryn Moor on 01484 511510.

W033    Friday 10 Mile Walks - Alan Taylor

Walking / Cycling meeting point
Friday

We walk every Friday for 8-12 miles between 10.00 and 4.00pm. We cover varied terrain, including moorland during all types of weather. Therefore good clothing and footwear are essential, also a realistic level of fitness to complete such walks. Most walks are within the Kirklees and Calderdale districts, but occasionally we go further afield and we car share whenever it is suitable. We are an informal, relaxed group and there is not an expectation that members will attend all the walks. Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept under control and put on a lead amongst livestock.
Members take turns to lead but we don't expect new members to lead straightaway and help is always available to plan walks. We take packed lunches, and occasionally we go to a cafe at the end of the walk. If you are interested in joining, and would like a chat about the group please ring Alan Taylor on 01484 538667 or 07544 594136.

W050    Sociable Cycling - John Sutcliffe and Joan Burnip

Walking / Cycling meeting point
Wednesday

We are a friendly group who enjoy cycling and the chance to visit different places and see different things. We ride on Wednesdays through the summer months(BST) although we have some informal rides at other times of the year if the weather is good. The majority of our rides are car assisted. We use quiet roads, greenways and occasional tracks. Main roads and steep hills are avoided where possible, but where necessary some of us get off bikes and walk! Rides can start from as far away as the Lancashire coast and York but most are within West Yorkshire. We have a lunch stop at a café or similar and maybe an ice cream break in the afternoon. The first few rides will be short distances of 15-25 miles on flatter routes. You will need a bike suitable for road and canal towpaths, spare inner tube, puncture repair kit etc. For further information, contact John Sutcliffe or Joan Burnip on 01484 536168.
