Friends Meeting House

Thursday 10.15 - 12.15

This is the group for you if you have an interest in photography. You don’t have to be an expert, or have an expensive camera, just a desire to improve your skills and create better images. We cover many genres of photography including landscapes, portrait, wildlife and more. Long-standing members are very willing to help newcomers with less experience. There will be a different topic each week. Sometimes a practical exercise on the day, sometimes some ‘homework’ to take photographs on a particular theme! We learn by sharing our own photographs (usually projected on screen), which often leads to some lively discussion. If you’ve not been before, come along to our friendly group and try a new hobby.
Tarot Card Reading – A New Hobby?

The Newsome Centre (formerly St John's Church)

Monday 10.00 - 12.00

**NEW GROUP** This short course offers a relaxed and engaging introduction to Tarot card reading as a hobby. Designed for complete beginners as well as those with some prior experience, the course explores the history and structure of the Tarot, including the Major and Minor Arcana, symbolism, and card meanings. Participants will learn how to interpret individual cards, develop intuition, and practise a variety of simple spreads for personal insight and reflection. Emphasis is placed on Tarot as a tool for self-discovery, creativity, and thoughtful conversation rather than prediction. Each session includes guided learning, group discussion, and practical reading exercises in a friendly, fun and supportive environment. By the end of the course, participants will feel confident conducting basic readings for themselves and others. No prior knowledge is required — just curiosity and an open mind.
